Product Application
StiffClip® RT series secures and ties down roof framing members. StiffClip’s
unique shape incorporates stiffened legs to increase compressive strength and resist
horizontal, lateral, and uplift loads. The allowable design load table shown is
based on the use of StiffClip as it is attached to various steel stud material thicknesses
and yield strengths. Design loads consider loads on the clip and the use of #12
screw fasteners relative to the framing material.
Material Composition
ASTM A653/A653M, Grade 50 (340), 50ksi (340MPa) minimum yield strength, 65ksi (450MPa)
minimum tensile strength, G-90 (Z275) hot-dipped galvanized coating.

StiffClip RT
Nomenclature
StiffClip RT650 is 6½” long, and may be used when wall studs do not align
with roof framing member. The RT1300 is 13” long, and is used when wall studs align
with roof framing member. Clips are designated by length, followed by thickness
and number of screws used in each leg (determined by load requirements).

StiffClip RT650 Installation
|
|
- To install the StiffClip RT, place one end flush against the roof framing member
with the other end abutting the wall framing member.
- Attachment includes 2 or 4 screws in the upper and lower parts of each StiffClip
RT.

StiffClip RT1300 Installation
|
|
- For the StiffClip RT1300, place the clip flush against roof framing member, top
plate, and wall stud.
- Attachment includes 2 or 4 screws in each of the upper, middle, and lower parts
of each StiffClip RT1300.
