PrimeWall® EQ Track

PrimeWall® EQ Track is used with PrimeWall EQ Studs in non-load-bearing wall systems that support gypsum board construction. Like PrimeWall EQ Studs, EQ Track allows you to replace 20 gauge non-structural drywall track in most applications. Each PrimeWall EQ Track is manufactured from mill-certified steel meeting material composition requirements listed below.

Notes:

  • Section properties are calculated in accordance with AISI NASPEC 2001 with 2004 Supplement.
  • Tabulated gross properties are based on the full, unreduced cross section of the stud away from punchouts.
  • Effective section properties don't incorporate strength increase from cold work of forming.
  • Effective moment of inertia Ix is calculated at a stress = 0.6 Fy.

PrimeWall® EQ Track is made of cold-formed steel coils conforming to ASTM A 1003/A 1003M Structural Steel Grade 50 (340), with 50ksi (340MPa) minimum yield strength and 65ksi (450MPa) minimum tensile strength. Coating is G40 (Z120) hot-dipped galvanized, or equivalent conforming to ASTM C 645. Steel material with G60 and G90 coating are available upon request.
