Pictured are two load bearing wall header applications, with the left picture showing TSN's StiffClip® HE, and on the right is an assembly containing one flat plate to connect the header to the jamb along with another piece of steel to distribute more load from the header to the flat plate, and an additional clip under the header. Each StiffClip® HE contains guide holes for installation of up to 28 symmetrically-placed screw fasteners, and is load rated to resist both vertical and horizontal loads. The assembly at right contains 18 screws, and the clip uses 4 screws, with each installed in no real discernable pattern. Additionally, the steel material may or may not be traceable or mill-certified. The StiffClip® HE combines the 3 methods used at right into one engineered, traceable, and liability-protecting connection.
